Alexandra 8&9 month update!

Good afternoon everyone!! I'm so glad that you've stopped by to take a look at my blog! I haven't posted any monthly updates about Lexi the last two months! I'm sorry about that! So today I'm posting it! I'm also going to try and post either weekly or by-weekly! What are some suggestions y'all would like for me to post? Give me all the ideas! 
Ok now onto Lexi, she's 9 months old this month! She knows how to crawl, is learning to pull herself up and let's go so she can try and stand on her own! I'm so amazed at how much she's learning! She loves her books which I'm sure I've mentioned before, also loves to eat anything we eat! I'll post both her 8 month and 9 month pictures below! 

I'm amazed by how much she's growing! I can't believe in just 3 short months she'll be a year old! It's crazy how fast the first year goes by! Some might say that it goes by slowly especially if they are having cranky babies or just having day to day difficulties! But for us, it seems to go by fast since we have such an easy and happy go-lucky baby! It's been amazing and I just love motherhood so much! It's everything I dreamed about!💓

Outfit For The Day

I don't do much outfit posting on my blog much. But I just had to share my wonderful find from GH Bass this week! My husband, Lexi, and I went into their store the other day just looking at their winter clothing and all.. I ended finding a wonderful flannel top, and 2 cotton t-shirts all on sale! I just love how all my shirts are so comfy to wear and also are at appropriate length and don't ride up when I bend down to pick Lexi up!👌

Lexi {7 Month Update}

Hello everyone! Hope each of you have been having a wonderful New Year and January! We had some snow near the beginning of this month which is so rare for North West Mississippi!! We've also had some nice warm days as well! I really can't wait for Spring so we can take Lexi to the park to swing and such! This month Lexi turned 7 months old! She's such a spunky little girl! She loves food, her daddy, going to the zoo, playing with her puppy (Cassie our Great Dane) and just overall loves learning new things! 💖😊

I have included some of my favorites this month! Having a cell phone to capture every moment is so amazing! I am so blessed to be this girl's mom! It's so fun to watch her grow and become more mobile these past few months! This month she hit a milestone and has been learning the ropes of crawling! Watching her hit these milestones are so awesome! I am in awe every day with how much she's growing and learning! 😍😘💖

Lexi's First 6 Months

So today I am writing a post about Lexi's first 6 months! Today she turned 6 months old and it feels like yesterday since she was born! It's been so much fun having her here!! I am including all of her "monthly milestone pictures" as well! So, her favorite thing to do these days are, squealing as loudly as can be! Loves her purees and also trying to spit them out at me too! Loves it when Daddy plays "airplane" with her, and just lights up period when daddy comes into the room where ever she is! 
Ok now onto the pictures!

This month is extra special cause this is Lexi's First Christmas!! I wanted to take her picture by the Christmas Tree to also be sort of her First Christmas photo! I definitely will try and take a better "Christmasy" photo soon!! It's so much fun having a little girl to dress up, play with, and cuddle when she isn't feeling well!! She's been teething very much lately and so the extra cuddles have been so nice! She's also a wonderful eater! Loves her purees, crackers, and even pancakes! Love my girly so much!!💗💗

Top 10 Must Have Items For Baby

I am putting together the top 10 baby items that I feel are necessary to have for baby!! I have experimented with items for our daughter and have decided to write a blog post about my favorite items!!
*Note: This post is not an ad for any items! Not being paid for by any companies these are just my thoughts on the best items to have for baby!

1. ErgoBaby Adapt Carrier
This item is a must have!! I just got this for my now 5 month old and I honestly don't know why I didn't get it when she was first born! It is so comfy for both mom and baby!! The Adapt is for newborn-toddler! It can be purchased from Ergobaby and they have 4 colors to choose from! I got the black since I wanted a color that can match every thing! I also got black to use for any other babies we have!😊

2. SwaddleMe Swaddle Wraps

Swaddle wraps are a lifesaver for newborns!! If we didn't have the swaddle wraps I don't know how we would have survived the newborn stage! Lexi loved being swaddled from the time she was born! And swaddle me swaddle wraps are perfect for beginners who have never swaddled before! These come in sizes from preemie-large! These can be purchased any where that sells baby items or from Summer Infant

3. SwaddleMe muslin swaddle blankets

These are a lifesaver as well! We love using these as blankets in the carseat, for naptime, for feeding times, and they were so useful while nursing! Lexi has 5 total and will probably have more as the time goes on! They're so lightweight and so useful! Here's the website to purchase from Summer Infant and also can be purchase anywhere!

5. Dr. Brown's Bottles

When we ended up having to bottle feed when my daughter was 6 weeks old. We were trying to find the best bottle that didn't make our girl swallow too much milk and end up throwing it back up! The ONLY bottle that worked were the Dr Brown's Bottles! And they still work to this day! This set is available at Babies-R-Us and also at stores that carry these bottles!

6. MAM Pacifiers

If you are going with pacifiers for self soothing the MAM pacifiers have worked so well with our daughter! We've used the ones that the hospital gave her, the Dr Browns ones (she still takes them every now and then) but she mostly now takes the MAM ones! They're so great for self soothing and for falling asleep for naps! Target has them as well as any baby store!

7. Baby Swing

When our daughter was 9 weeks old we got her a baby swing since she loved to be rocked and still loves to be rocked! We got this one from Babies-R-Us and couldn't be more happier with it! We wanted something gender neutral since I want to hold onto it and use it for future babies! One reason we went with a portable one was so we could store it without having to take up a lot of space!

8. Pack and Play systems

When our daughter was first born we didn't need a pack and play since we have a antique baby cradle that our daughter slept in. But once she outgrew that and got a little more mobile we got a pack and play for trips and for her to play in while at home! Here's a nice one to use from newborn-toddler from Target 

9. Boppy Nursing Pillows

These nursing/position pillows are so amazing!! Lexi has been using hers since she came home from the hospital and even at the hospital while we were nursing! And she still uses it at 5 months! This pillow is also great for when your little is learning to sit up and helps them be in more control! Here's where you can purchase it Boppy Company

10. Britax Marathon Carseat

When our daughter was just 2 months old we ended up needing to find her a new carseat! Her infant bucket seat was starting to be too small and she would scream the entire time she was in it.. So my husband and I started looking around and found a nice convertible carseat that fit all of our needs! This carseat met all of our requirements for our daughter and when we have future children we will be going with this to begin with! Britax Marathon Carseat

Seventh Generation Diaper Review

I had the opportunity to review a package of  Seventh Generation Free & Clear Diapers! I received them FREE from Seventh Generation!

Ok, so we have been using them for 2 days now and they are wonderful! They hold up really well and glad that my baby girl stays nice and dry in them! We haven't tried them at night since my 4 month old sleeps through the night and I don't want her to be soak and wet by the time she wakes up in the morning! If you're looking for nice cotton disposable diapers Seventh Generation Free & Clear diapers are the way to go! They have the cutest designs out now too!!
Highly recommend them!

My Summer/Fall Style

Hey everyone! Life of being a mother is so amazing! I can't believe Lexi is already 2 1/2 months old!! Being a mother has been such an amazing ride so far! She's already been a very good sleeper since the day she was born! Now she's sleeping anywhere from 5-7 hours each night! She's thriving on her Gerber Good Start Gentle formula and I am so very happy we made the switch to formula when my supply started going down! She loves to smile, laugh, squeal at everything and also loves her baby swing! She loves her daddy so much and loves to watch T.V. with her daddy and I too! :)

So there's an update on our baby daughter.. 
Now onto my style inspirations.. As many know I am very huge into the preppy look! So I am constantly looking for style inspirations on Pinterest for summer and fall! I am posting two of my outfits I got last month from Lilly Pulitzer store here in Memphis.. 

Both of these outfits are my favorite! The tunic will be perfect for the Fall and Winter months! And it's even cooler to wear in the summer also! The dress I will also wear in the fall and winter too just adding a cardigan and some tights to the dress will make it cute for the colder days as well! Who says you can only wear Lilly in the Spring or Summer clearly didn't know how to style outfits with cardigans lol ;)

Alexandra Elizabeth Whitten

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't written any posts as of late! 6 weeks ago we had our precious baby girl! She weighed 6lbs 6oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.. She was born at 2:50pm on June 6,2016

It has been so amazing having her and I am so in love with our gorgeous girl! We named her Alexandra Elizabeth.. We came up with the name before we even knew the gender.. It has been a whirl wind leading up to the birth of her.. I found out at 32 weeks that I had developed Preeclampsia and so I was put on modified bed rest with weekly dr visits and needed to deliver at 37 weeks.. I was so very happy to be able to have a natural birth with her! I was in labor for 9 hours from the time they started the pitocin until the moment she was born.. 

A day after she was born we got a newborn photoshoot done.. I will be adding some of my favorites below from that photoshoot.. 

Fast forward to this evening I am still so in awe of our girl! She is already holding her head up really well and loves her tummy time and smiles at both her mommy and daddy! She's a daddy's girl, and loves her doggie Cassie so much! (Cassie is our Great Dane) She's also a wonderful sleeper at night too! Sleeping most times 6 hours! Occasionally she might wake up after sleeping for 4 but thats not very often! ;)
She also loves sleeping on her stomach in her cradle.. Soon we will be slowly making the transition over to her crib in her room..

About a week ago I was given an opportunity to model and review an article of clothing from Pink Blush Maternity and now that it was nice outside to take the pictures I am writing my blog post about how much I am in love with my new dress!! I picked the mint green floral dress and I definitely couldn't be happier about my choice!!

I love how this dress focuses on my baby bump and how flattering it is also! The length is so perfect too!! If you want an adorable dress for your upcoming baby shower, event, or just because you want a cute dress I highly recommend getting this!! I paired my new wedged heels with this dress and I love how they all look together!! I am sure with any kind of heels would be great as with flats and sandals!! Back To Blogging

Hey everyone! How have each of you been? I have been good! I took a break from blogging because I didn't know if I wanted to do a Fashion Blog, Lifestyle Blog, etc.. But I have decided that I am just going to continue with the style I am doing now.. A little mixture of everything.. :) 

Ok, here is what has been going on  the last several months, My husband and I are expecting our first baby in June of this year!! We are beyond excited to be having this little girl! We are naming her Alexandra Elizabeth.. It has been more like a family tradition to have the name Elizabeth as a first or middle name and I wanted to keep that going.. Currently I am 23 weeks along and feeling baby girl kick and move all the time.. It's so amazing to feel her move and know that in 4 months we will be meeting our little girl!

Wow, I can't believe that it's already March!! How the months are surely flying by! Can't believe that Spring is already almost upon us! I am so ready to get out into the flower beds and work up all the weeds and such and start getting some new flowers to plant! We didn't get any snow this year here in North Mississippi.. But that's ok! I am sure we will get our share of snow some winter.. ;)

Ok, for any of my followers that are either expecting or already have children and are looking into having another child.. Pro Life Generation

Ok, I am going to go on a rant/blog post about some comments I was reading on Instagram about abortion, and Planned Parenthood! 
I am Pro Life all the way!! I don't care who tries to tell me differently I think its wrong and thats that!! I also think that what the Planned Parenthood group has been doing is wrong too!! Selling baby body parts for money is WRONG and DISGUSTING!!! Granted yes when Planned Parenthood first started they were there to help pregnant women with prenatal care and even there for women after they had the child/children but now all they're here for is abortion and selling baby body parts... And to sit there and say that a baby is just a "big clump of cells" is just very sad!! It makes me oh so sad to think that people of this nation think a baby is a clump of cells and doesn't have any feelings, and isn't "alive" yet... News flash!! It definitely is ALIVE from the time he/she has been conceived in the womb and even after he/she is born!!! I am so sick of pro choice people sitting there condemning pro life people and christians no less cause of our views against abortion!! And to sit there and tell me that I need to read more books other than the Bible is just wrong!!! I read many books and have done research and I don't see where its still right to have an abortion done!! 
And also I don't understand why every single time abortion is brought up every one has to bring up rape victims!! Why? Whats the point of bringing up rape victims? 
I am also going to quote Bible scriptures about children and about them being a blessing from God!!

Even before we were even thought of God has/had a plan for us!! And I still believe that God has a plan for every baby and person still!!

5 Must Watch Shows On Netflix

Hey everyone! How's your August going so far? Mine is good! Can't believe the summer months are almost over! And next month there will be lots of Pumpkin Spice Latte's at the coffee shops and all bringing in the awesome Fall season!! :)
Ok, so I'm going to list 5 must watch shows on Netflix! I know most have Netflix and it's easy to get sucked into a show too!! So here's my list! 

1. Gossip Girl

This show will keep you watching it till the end of the 6 seasons!! I have personally watched it 4 times and currently watching it again! Definitely a MUST SEE!!! :)

2. Once Upon A Time

If you like fairy tale characters then you'll love this show! I honestly love the way this show portrays the characters! 

3. Heartland

Any horse lover will love this show! Even I love the show and I'm not a "horse lover"

4. When Calls The Heart

This show has definitely become one of my most favorite shows ever on Hallmark Channel!! If you haven't watched it, definitely check it out! I'm sure it'll become one of your favorites too! 

5.Reign

If you love period dramas then you will love this show too! Mary Queen Of Scots is really a neat story for the CW to bring to life! My favorite character is Queen Catherine though.. She's played by the very talented Megan Follows who also starred in the 1987 tv version of Anne Of Green Gables!

Planned Parenthood Scandal

As most of you have probably seen yesterday, there has been a scandal come out about a Planned Parenthood Executive selling baby body parts for money!! This just sickens me that a person would want to sell aborted BABY body parts!! Here is the link to the news article for anyone who hasn't seen it yet... Planned Parenthood sells baby body parts 
The whole situation just makes me mad!! And for someone to have no remorse over the whole thing is just sickening!! I understand that Pro-Choice people believe that a baby isn't a baby until it is born.. But I am sorry I don't believe that at all!!! A BABY is a BABY even before it is born!! 

I agree with this whole heartedly!!! There are thousands of families everyday who would love to be able to have children who can't that would gladly adopt!! Why can't we stand up and give the information to those who have thought about having an abortion done? I think its time we as a Pro-Life whole need to stand up and fight for the ones who are little and can't fight for themselves!!!

Yes a person is a person no matter how small they are!!!

Hey everyone! I hope each of you have had a wonderful week so far!! Hope your weekend is off to a great start too!! Ok, I'm gonna write a blog post on Preppy Style.. Confederate Flag/Gay Marriage Controversy

Hey everyone! I pray that your week has been wonderful, and pray that each of you have a wonderful and safe 4th Of July!

Ok, I know right now has been the whole talk about removing the Confederate Battle Flag, and all Confederate people and landmarks! One I think it is wrong!! I have lived in the south my entire life and if anyone thinks the Confederate flag is a "hate flag" then they need to re-do history again and learn what the TRUE history about the Confederate Battle Flag!! I also don't think that the government has a right to take down a flag that represents what the South did back in the 1800's and what the South also stands for!!! I think it's about time for us to stand up for what we believe in and show everyone what the South has done since the Civil War era!! 
Also, banning tv shows, movies, artist who have Confederate flags in their yards/albums aren't going to change anything!! Banning a movie (Gone With The Wind) that was made back in 1939 because of the Confederate Army isn't going to change anything!! I don't understand why because a serious whacked out person who went into a black church and killed innocent people that they blame it on the Confederate Flag.. This wasn't a "flag" issue, this was a person issue! He is the one that has some serious issues with something that has happened in his life! But instead of people taking control of their actions its easier to put the blame onto someone else!! Or something else!!! 

Now, onto the whole Supreme Courts ruling on all 50 states being legal to marry Gays... I for one don't agree with Gay marriage, I don't think thats the way God intended marriage to be.. BUT, in the courts eyes I do think people have the right to marry whoever they want to marry!! Insurance companies, for one have had where you could claim a "partner" on insurance for several years now.. So honestly I don't understand why this has to be a big battle! If you don't agree with gay's marrying well thats fine, but if your a probate judge well I'm sorry but you should grant that couple their marriage license! If you don't want to give it to them, then I'm sure there is someone else that will be glad to! 
Now, I do have an issue with gay couples thinking they have a right to everything!! I'm sorry but if a Christian business doesn't want to make a cake for your wedding, then go to another cake shop to get it, don't sit there and make their life a living Hell for the fun of it! EVERYONE has a right to believe in what they want to! That's the problem with this Nation that we live in, it's ok for one group to believe in what they want, but not ok for another to believe in what they want to!! I have several gay friends and they are such good friends too!! But I've been very upfront with them too! Ive let them know that as long as they don't shove down my throat what they believe in, I won't do the same! We are all called to love each other!! We don't love the sin, but we are to love the sinner!! What most don't understand is, every one of us sins, no sin is any greater than others!! If I lose friends over this blog post well thats fine, I'm speaking out for what I believe in, and what I think is right!! If you don't agree with me, thats fine!

So I am going to today with some Wedding pictures, and some house pictures that I have taken! The last two weeks we have been busy painting our house! It have been so much fun picking the colors out together and painting together!! :)

Yesterday was National Wear Lilly Day since it was also the first day of summer.. So I will post a picture of my Lilly dress!!
